Rivas May Report 9577 Sweet Clover Way, Fishers IN 46038 juan.rivas@wishard.edu May, 2005 After I became a Christian (JC), I
devoured missionary biographies. I love
the adventure and the passion of carrying the torch to people
who had never heard of Christ. Well, this is our dream…:“…TO SET
OUR FEET TO SHARE OUR SAVIOR WHERE NO MISSIONARY HAS BEEN BEFORE...” But
you may be thinking, is that possible in
Spain. Doesn’t
Spain already know the Jesus story?. The answer, as one who has grown there is absolutely
NOT. The only “gospel” that they know is that “there
is a God that will judge them severely if they do not perform to
certain standards”. Growing up in Spain, I had never hear the sweet words
of “Jesus loves you” until a missionary couple from Riverton,
Illinois came to our town and told us the “Story”.
How many young people still are there, like myself, who had never heard and are starving to hear? I imagine there are hundreds! JUST LIKE THIS LITTLE TOWN LOCATED IN SOUTHERN SPAIN, CALLED ALBANCHEZ. ONE OF THE 8,000 TOWNS THAT HAD NEVER !
What do the State of Massachusetts and the country of Spain in common? You may think is a trick question but the reality they do have something very sad in common. They are part of a list of governments that had been legalizing homosexual marriages. Last April 21st the Spanish parliament approved " the legalization of homosexual marriages". Now this bill will go to the Senate. Though Spain is passionately religious, secularism has take over the country. Their religion has became "a pacifier of their conscience" and not the living and changing message of our Lord Jesus that we hope to bring to Spain. Keep praying that people will turn from "idols into the living God", just like the Thessalonians did, because only a change of heart will change the mind of people. Prayer Request:
Thank you for your help in the realization of our dream to share the true gospel about our Lord Jesus Christ with those who have never heard in Southern Spain. In His Beautiful Grace, The Rivas Family
